A Prayer for Today

Dear Lord,

You are Almighty, all-powerful, and ever in control. May you still our hearts, bend our ears to hear your truth, and show us the path forward.

Bring peace to our nation and to this world. Let kindness and hope prevail.

May we all act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with you. Help us as we seek to love our neighbors, different though we may be, and let us see one another as you see us - through the lens of love.

Your will be done…in us, through us, and in spite of us.

Forgive us in our brokenness, pride, and selfishness.

Forgive us when we step beyond your desires and let temptation take hold.

Let your unending love and mercy be our beacon of light.

Let our faith not be shaken nor our hearts hardened.

Grant comfort to the hurting and strength to the weary.

Guide us in your ways and open our eyes to see goodness in one another.

In all things, may our faith be bigger than our fears.

And may we never forget that YOU are THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE.
